The Lucky One - Nicholas Sparks I read this for my library book group - so, for what it's worth, this is not the type of book I would necessarily choose to read. It was certainly painless - an easy read, nothing that made me feel that I couldn't bear to keep reading. But eminently forgettable.

The characters were flat - the good ones were pretty much perfect and the bad one was awful. Certainly no moral ambiguities in this one! The plot was predictable.

And it's a good example of how you should stay away from details if you don't know what you're talking about - when the characters decide to make homemade ice cream (which the female lead supposedly does relatively often), the description states that she measures out flour, along with sugar, cream, etc. - FLOUR? In ice cream?

People say that if you've read one book by Sparks, you've basically read all of them - so I won't be bothering to read any more of his books.
